AIG British Women’s Open 2021 case study
When the 2021 AIG Women’s British Open was held at Carnoustie Links from 19th– 21st August Qdos Event Hire’s Scottish team delivered more than 100 cabins and toilets to the golfing tournament that has rapidly become a calendar highlight.
Units of various sizes from Qdos’ extensive range of kit were deployed at numerous points of the famous course and utilised by IMG (R&A’s staging partner), media, officials, medics, police and contractors. 40’ cabins played host to a Green Room, Sky, RF Audio & Vision and R & A Covid Officers. Whilst 16’, 20’, 24’ and 32’ units were in action as site offices, storage areas, commentary boxes and security checkpoints, as well spaces for carrying out COVID testing, isolating and quarantining.
The tournament proved gripping from the outset, however it was Anna Nordqvist who took the title with a single stroke in the end and securing her third major championship.
“In a busy summer, when the events world seemingly awoke from the Covid-19-induced hiatus and the transport complications ripped through the UK, Qdos delivered the AIG Women’s Open requirements to a high standard. The project management team ensured that no stone was left unturned in the delivery of the event, and they are a credit to the company. I look forward to working with Qdos to deliver events in the future.”
