Qdos Event Hire was asked to provide temporary accommodation and welfare facilities to People Creative this October when they created a pop-up cinema in London’s Victoria Embankment Gardens. Playing an integral role in BFI’s London Film Festival’s 60th anniversary celebrations the venue was open from 5th – 16th October.

Qdos supplied:

  • Three of its luxury fresh water vacuum toilets; two x 3 ladies + 2 gents and one x 3 ladies + 1 gents + disabled, along with all the consumable goods required
  • 24′ open plan jackleg cabin used as a production office
  • Sink unit required for the concessions
  • All waste disposal and plumbing required for the site

In addition, Qdos provided an on-site engineer for 11 days who worked 12 hours per day to ensure the smoothing running of the project.

Victoria Embankment Gardens is a difficult event site, it is a tight space with restricted access, to enable them to install and position the trailer units and cabin safely, Qdos made the deliveries overnight. This ensured that they weren’t onsite when other contractors and crew were onsite trying to build tents and install power etc.

Throughout the 11 days of the BFI Film Festival, a total of 144 short films, 193 fiction and 52 documentary features were screened, including 18 world premieres, 8 international premieres and 39 European premieres.
