Qdos Event Hire’s commercial director, Jay Sirah received the accolade of Unsung Hero at the Festival Supplier Awards 2023. The prestigious awards ceremony celebrates the outdoor event industry and was held at London’s Hurlingham Club on Thursday 26th January.

Jay has been with Qdos Event Hire for over eight years, initially joining as an experienced Hire Controller and working her way through the ranks to be appointed commercial director in early 2022. With the winner of the award decided by public vote, event professionals were encouraged to vote for Jay given her unique ability to multi-task and prioritise whilst delivering the highest standards of customer service in even the most challenging of circumstances.

In 2022 Jay was integral to Qdos’ successful delivery of numerous high-profile events, including HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, British Grand Prix, Moto GP, Wimbledon, Slam Dunk, BMW Championships and Operation London Bridge, along with managing long terms contracts with the Metropolitan Police and ESG.

Commenting on her win, Jay said: “I’m very proud of everything that Qdos Event Hire has achieved in recent years and passionate about my role within the business. To win an award that has been voted for by my colleagues, clients, suppliers and fellow event professionals is overwhelming, especially when you consider the calibre of my fellow nominees. I’m very grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for me.”

Qdos’ managing director James Thomas adds: “The entire team is absolutely thrilled that Jay received the Unsung Hero award at the Festival Supplier Awards 2023. Jay’s hard work and commitment to the business have been instrumental in Qdos’ recent growth and success. Jay has played a significant role within the launch of our dedicated Location Facilities division and worked closely with the team in our newly established Scottish office, providing them with immeasurable support and encouragement.”

Qdos Event Hire also secured a Highly Commended in the competitive Best Supplier category, narrowly missing out to GL events who secured the win for its involvement in delivering the Commonwealth Games.
