Farnborough Testing Centre Case Study
Qdos Event Hire was contracted by East Berkshire Primary Care to project manage the install of its temporary building requirements at its Covid-19 Testing Centre at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre. All work was carried out adhering to strict Covid-safe protocols with robust risk assessments and method statements produced that took account of social distancing, increased sanitation and the appropriate PPE.
Our brief Qdos was to provide a three lane test capability that would comply with COVID-19 safety requirements and meet FIA’s Health & Safety expectations.
Qdos supplied three of its 24’ x 9’ cabins with a 50/50 split partition to ensure there was no cross contamination between COVID areas and ‘clean areas’. The team also helped design and coordinate the weather protection build in collaboration with Pridewatch. The final solution was three cabins each with it’s own marquee that people could drive through to be tested by a nurse; the marquee and cabin set up proved invaluable in protecting staff from the windy conditions that are often seen on an airfield.
In addition, Qdos installed a 32’ x 10’ hospitality suite that was used as a welfare space by the testing staff members and allowed for safe social distancing.
Qdos’ and Pridewatch’s cabins and marquees were onsite for a 13-week period which began in April 2020 at the height of pandemic.
