Case Study – Festival of Speed

For the second year in succession Qdos Event Hire provided all portable accommodation and welfare facilities for the prestigious Festival of Speed.  Qdos supported the organiser with a single order solution, providing a full and comprehensive range of toilets, showers, disabled wet-rooms, cabins, offices and storage containers throughout the site.

Qdos also provided and managed a range of added value services to complement the products being supplied, this included carpenters to build and install over 80 purpose built access steps and ramps, cladding to finish and dress units, daily toilet servicing and LPG Gas for showers.

More than 400 units were installed in total, including: almost 200 event cabins and containers; over 40 showers; 80 jack leg toilet blocks, in a combination of male, female and disabled and almost 100 plastic toilets. Qdos invested £450k in brand new jackleg toilets with a sleek, modern contemporary design in 2015 in order to fulfil the contract.  New for 2016 were 10 cabins supplied directly to agencies and suppliers who had been engaged by a number of major brands participating in the event, these included: Vauxhall, Nissan, Jaguar Land Rover, McLaren and BMW. In addition, Qdos also provided extra units for the OB compound and created a 21 bay site operations office using the CTX Modular Solution.

The Qdos team initially arrive onsite on the 2nd May assuming responsibility for the installation and siting of all units, including the bespoke elements. Toilet and shower facilities were distributed throughout the event site and adjacent campsites. Cabins, hospitality units and storage containers were used as offices for contractors, medical centres, press and media areas and green rooms all over the Goodwood Estate. Taking pride of place were units with the F1 Paddock, Top Paddock, and the Rally Stage. Qdos was also delighted to reinstall their custom made Commentators’ Box that overlooks the track.
