Case Study – Glastonbury 2016

Qdos Event Hire was appointed by Glastonbury Festival’s production team to support the five-day festival when it took place at Pilton in Somerset this June. With approximately 175,000 visitors attending the legendary festival, a vast range of high quality temporary accommodation was required across a multitude of sites throughout Glastonbury for a variety of uses.

More than 20 of their 24ft x 9ft dressing room units, with a 50/50 split, were installed into a number of areas, including: dressing rooms for main stage in The Field of Avalon, dressing rooms for The Glade Area, with its varied programme of world music, live bands and electronica and The Left Field hosted by Billy Bragg and Juliet Eavis.  Alongside a unit installed as the music office in Arcadia and a unit within Green Field.

Silver Hayes with its six stages took delivery of three units to use for the Sonic stage.  A unit was supplied as a camping field office in the Greenpeace Field and 50/50 jackleg units were provided to The Park area for the production office disco and a unit was delivered to the Rabbit Hole; Glastonbury’s most talked about mystery realm.

Their five window ticket offices were delivered across the site for use by wristbanders, including a unit that was used as the international ticket office, another office went to the Pyramid Stage, for the distribution of hospitality wristbands. A ticket office was supplied to Heds Party DJ battle and dance extravaganza in Silver Hayes.

In addition, ten of their open plan 24ft x 9ft cabins were delivered across various sites including three to Kidzfield, the family community at the heart of Glastonbury, where they were used for first aid, lost children and as a storage and workshop area.

In total, Qdos supplied 43 units across the festival which also included 16ft x 9ft open plan offices and 24ft x 9ft open plan event offices.
