With Goodwood Estate unable to welcome the usual crowds for the highly popular Festival of Speed and Revival weekends due to Coronavirus, it ran a new, one-time-only interactive entertainment experience, behind-closed-doors.
Given its ongoing contract to support Goodwood’s events, Qdos Event Hire was delighted to supply a host of temporary accommodation, storage containers, toilets and showers to SpeedWeek held from 16th – 18th October.
Qdos supplied kit to media centres, broadcast compounds, maintenance areas, campsites and key positions around the event site. This included:
6 x 10’ x 8’ containers
2 x 16’ open plan cabins
18’ mobile office
3 x 20’ x 9’ open plan cabins
12 x 24’ x 9’ cabins in a combination of open plan and 50/50 split, two were supplied as a pan wash facility for the campsite and included four sinks and boilers
6 x 24’ x 9’ jackleg female toilets
11 x 24’ x 9’ jackleg male toilets
2 x 3+2 luxury toilet trailers
2 x 40’ x 10’ – one open plan and one with divisions and a sink
8’ open plan cabin
2 x disabled toilet/ shower trailers
3 x 6-head showers (new)
14 x unisex shower pods
9 x plastic toilets
Millions of fans were able to experience the virtual thrills of SpeedWeek by streaming the event at home. Dermot O’Leary, Rory Reid, Siân Welby and Mark Webber presented the live stream, which was filled with wheel-to-wheel racing in some of the world’s most valuable and historic cars, fast-paced feats and extraordinary celebrations, with celebrities joining to host special moments from around the world.
